The book exposes a case of modern-day slavery suffered in 2008 by a 13-year-old girl at the hands of the WHO Representative in Bamako, Dr Fatoumata Binta Tidiane Diallo. I was an administrator at the WHO office in Bamako. I brought this situation to the attention of WHO officials, Dr Luis G. Sambo, WHO Regional Director, Mr. Sanders Haarman, Finance & Administation Director, and Mr. Alvaro Durao, RPO. They chose to turn a blind eye because the people who were supposed to act were complicit in one way or another. In 2021, thirteen years after the nightmare I experienced in Bamako, I learned that the new WHO Gemeral Director , Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, had declared in a press conference that he was sorry for the sexual exploitation of women in Congo by WHO employees and promised to put an end to this. Two days after this statement, I sent a letter to the WHO Gemeral Director informing him of what had happened within his own organization. Two more letters and three years later, nothing has been done for reasons that I will outline and document in my book
